ENERGY LABELS INFORMATION
ENERGY EFFECIENCY FROM 01/01/2018
FROM JANUARY 2018 THE WAY A GAS FIRE IS ADVERTISED HAS CHANGED WHATEVER THE EFFECIENCY IS IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOSE 10% AND THIS CAN ONLY BE RETREIVED USING ELECTRONIC OR AUTOMATED CONTROLS
FOR EXAMPLE WE CAN GET BACK 4% IF THE APPLIANCE HAS A REMOTE CONTROL THAT CAN ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE OF THE APPLIANCE AND ANOTHER 2% IF THE REMOTE CONTROL HAS A TIMER TO TURN OFF THE APPLIANCE
WITH THESE RULES WE MAY HAVE A MANUAL GAS FIRE THAT CAN BE ADVERTISED WITH 50% EFFECIENCY AND THE SAME FIRE WITH REMOTE CONTROL ADVERTISED AT 55% EFFECIENCY THEY WILL BOTH GIVE YOU THE SAME HEAT OUTPUT BUT BECAUSE 1 HAS CONTROLS ON IT CAN BE ADVERTISED HIGHER
DUE TO THE WAY THE EFFECIENCY IS CALCULATED IT IS VERY UNLIKELY A GAS FIRE WOULD BE BETTER THAN BAND C
ENERGY EFFECIENCY CLASS | ENERGY EFFECIENCY INDEX EEI |
A++ | EEI ≥ 130 |
A+ | 107 ≤ EEI < 130 |
A | 88 ≤ EEI < 107 |
B | 82 ≤ EEI < 88 |
C | 77 ≤ EEI < 82 |
D | 72 ≤ EEI < 77 |
E | 62 ≤ EEI < 72 |
F | 42 ≤ EEI < 62 |
G | EEI < 42 |
